Kitchen cabinet dimensions: base, wall and tall units
The sizes to know before you draw a kitchen, and how they connect. The values are the defaults MobiCAM uses when it adds a new cabinet; every one can be changed per cabinet.
01 / BASE UNITS
Base cabinet dimensions
| Carcass height | 72 cm. The legs go under it and the worktop on top. |
| Leg height | 10 cm. This is the size to change for a higher work surface; the carcass stays the same. |
| Carcass depth | 56 cm. The door (18 mm) and the worktop's overhang come in front of it. |
| Width | 60 cm is the most common. The ready-made modules come in 30, 60 and 80 cm: an 80 cm sink unit, two-door and pan-drawer units, and a 30 cm bottle rack. |
| Door gap | 3 mm. The door of a 72 × 60 cm carcass is cut at 71.7 × 59.7 cm. |
| Shelf | One shelf, sitting in the 32 mm system holes. |
02 / WORKTOP
Worktop and working height
The working height is three sizes added up: 10 cm legs + 72 cm carcass + 4 cm worktop = 86 cm.
| Worktop thickness | 4 cm laminate with a rounded (post-formed) front edge. |
| Front overhang | 25 mm, in front of the doors. |
| Worktop depth | 56 cm carcass + 18 mm door + 25 mm overhang = 60.3 cm. So it is cut from a 65 cm worktop strip; a 60 cm strip would be 3 mm short. |
| Island | 120 × 80 cm, starting at about 90 cm high. |
03 / WALL UNITS
Wall cabinet dimensions
A wall unit's bottom edge is 145 cm from the floor, which leaves 59 cm above the 86 cm worktop. A gap of 55–65 cm between worktop and wall units is usual; for the cooker hood above the hob, the distance its maker gives is the one that counts.
- Height 72 cm; 40 cm in the short modules (lift-up flap), 96 cm in the tall one
- Depth 32 cm; 35 cm in the appliance garage
- Bottom edge 145 cm from the floor

Tall cabinet dimensions
| Carcass height | 210 cm; 220 cm in all with the 10 cm legs. |
| Depth | 56 cm, flush with the base units. |
| Modules | Pantry, pull-out larder and oven housing, 60 cm wide. |
| Shelves | Four shelves. |

How these sizes change in MobiCAM
In the cabinet wizard you type the width, height, depth and leg height, and the preview changes at once. The cut list, the sheet layout and the quote all derive from the same sizes, so they all update together.
